The Freed School of Performing Arts strives to achieve excellence with each student that enters our school. We believe in a well-rounded dance curriculum that emphasizes safety and discipline. We believe that our students can continue their dance training with any instructor anywhere because we give them a strong background through ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and gymnastics. Presently, we have dancers performing all over the world. Our school is celebrating more than 60 years of the best dance, karate and gymnastics instruction available in the area. We invite you to join our dance family. Also, during the month of April, each student takes a class picture in their recital costume during their class time. Parents have the opportunity to purchase individual pictures of their child in their recital costume and/or a group picture of their entire class. Pictures are taken by a private photography company.
 
The Freed School is proud to offer you a professional background of experienced teaching, current trends in dance and modern teaching methods, and a dance recital at the end of the year to illustrate students progress. Video of the recital is available for purchase by a private video production company. Flowers, Tshirts and other gifts are also available for purchase as a fundraiser for the Sumter Civic Dance Company.
 
The Freed School also offers a dancewear store, The Dance Box, that is located within the studio for all your dancewear needs. We offer a variety of discount dancewear such as leotards, tights, warm-up suits, ballet skirts, ballet shoes, jazz shoes, tap shoes, and various Freed School attire including jackets, sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweatpants, dance bags, and garment bags for sizes ranging from preschool age through young adult.
